In the beginning, Park City was a rough and tumble silver mining boom town. The mines came and went but a raucous bunch of folks stayed on to ski and carouse. From those rowdy beginnings sprang bodacious boutiques and artsy stuff. Seriously good restaurants and a string of spirited watering holes. Come to think of it, Historic Park City today is still a lot like it was back in the 1890’s – only now with cushier lodgings and much better coffee.

‘Tis the Spooky Season

There is more than trick-or-treating that happens on Main Street for the Halloween Season.  From a scavenger hunt to hauntingly creative classes at the Kimball, there are lots of activities in the District.

10/23 – Sugar Buzz Scavenger Hunt @ 1pm

10/25 – Mud Monsters Class @ the Kimball Art Center

Tots create ghosts, goblins, spiders and pumpkins from clay.  Students add coils and pinched forms to create their very own spooky sculpture or candy dish.  Space is limited, so sign up soon.

10/27 – Candy Collection Bags Class @ the Kimball Art Center

Create a unique canvas tote and candy bag for Halloween. Students use glitter, paint, feathers  and various art supplies to create a spooky and fun bag. Space is limited, so sign up soon.

10/29 –Thriller Snow Dance on the Town Lift Plaza

Park City Mountain Resort is presenting the Thriller Snow Dance and all are welcome to participate. Come dressed in costume.  Face painters will be there to add to your look. Show up between 3 and 5pm to practice prior to the "official event" at 5pm.

10/29 - Dungeon Party: Night at the Museum Fundraiser

Join us Friday, October 29 from 5:00-7:30 pm at the Elks Club for some delicious hors d’oeuvres and drinks served by Park City’s renowned chefs. Then we’ll head over to  the Park City Museum for a special, behind-the-scenes “ghost tour.” Be one of the first to buy the annual Museum Christmas Ornament, view the exhibits, and meet the Museum staff and board members. This is an event for Museum members, so you’ll have a chance to renew your membership, and we encourage you to bring your friends and neighbors to join the Museum. 10/31 – Halloween on Main. 

3:00 – 5:30pm Trick-or-Treating.  Bring your ghosts, goblins, witches and warlocks to Main Street for tricks and treats with over 100 participating merchants.  With Main Street closed to vehicular traffic, there is plenty of room to let them run and have fun.

5:00 – 5:30pm Dog Parade. Costumed dogs (on leashes please) and their owners will proceed from the Heber Avenue to the Wasatch Brew Pub.  Open to pooches of all ages.

6:00pm Bar Crawl and Costume Contest.  Meet at High West Distillery from 6 - 7pm and then move on over to Butcher's Chop House and Bar from 7 - 8pm.  End your evening at Lindzee O'Michaels for the rest of the evening.  All in costume will be rewarded with special pricing on delicious Ecto-Coolers featuring High West Vodka at all 3 places. ALL 3 PLACES are having a COSTUME CONTEST so there are 3 chances to win. Join us on the true day of Halloween, even if it's a Sunday in Utah!
