Chic New Restaurant on Main Street's Hosts Scotch Tasting
Saturday, September 10, 2011
Having opened to many celebrity appearances during the 2011 Sundance Film Festival, SILVER has been dazzling Park City residents and visitors all summer with it's sleek, cosmopolitan vibe. This was clearly demonstrated the night of Savor the Summit when locals packed the upstairs lounge and dance floor following the popular Grand Table event on Main Street.
Occupying a tri-level historic building at 508 Main Street, SILVER serves a contemporary menu with many local ingredients and an inventive array of cocktails. The space was designed by Rockwell Group, a renowned New York City firm also credited with the new Cosmopolitan hotel in Las Vegas and the Jet Blue terminal at JFK airport. Rockwell preserved the historic integrity of the building while incorporating sleek, modern decor more reminiscent of larger urban environments than ski towns. DJs spin a mix of '80s and modern dance music during both dinner and drinking hours, which has helped SILVER contribute a more metropolitan take on the Park City dining scene.
Offering an adaptable space conducive to hosting a variety of events, SILVER offers occasional wine and beer paring dinners with various breweries and vintners. The next event on the schedule is "Scotch Made Simple," led by Park City local and owner of The Virtual Sommelier James Santangelo on Wednesday, August 17, 7:30 to 9 p.m. Participants will taste Scotch from the Highlands, Islay, and other regions and discover the differences between a blended, 12-year Scotch, and a single malt Scotch whiskey. The evening will conclude with the opportunity to guess a mystery pour. For more info or to make a reservation for Scotch Made Simple call SILVER at 435.940.1000.
