In the beginning, Park City was a rough and tumble silver mining boom town. The mines came and went but a raucous bunch of folks stayed on to ski and carouse. From those rowdy beginnings sprang bodacious boutiques and artsy stuff. Seriously good restaurants and a string of spirited watering holes. Come to think of it, Historic Park City today is still a lot like it was back in the 1890’s – only now with cushier lodgings and much better coffee.

Poco

Nothing beats the intimate setting, the awesome acoustics, and the close proximity to the stage afforded only at Park City's historic Egyptian Theatre.

Saturday, August 13,  the Egyptian Theatre welcomes country-rock trailblazers Poco.

Formed after the break-up of Buffalo Springfield in 1968, musicians Richie Furay, Jim Messina and Rusty Young decided to start their own group oriented toward songs with a country music influence.  The group's trademark sound mixed twang and backbeat with harmony vocals. In 2010, a new Poco era dawned led by Rusty Young, Jack Sundrud, and George Lawrence with additional musicians. The band always maintained their musical superiority and the new incarnation will continue to be musically superior with a foot in the past, present and future. As Rusty Young says, "Hang on, this could be quite a ride".
