Park Silly Sunday Market
weekly Starting Saturday June 11, 2011 through Sunday September 25, 2011 at 10:00am to 5:00pm
Local crafters, farmers market, kids activities, food, clowns, musicians and fire eaters, Oh My! No the circus has not come to town, it's the Park Silly Sunday Market.
The Park City Sunday Market marks its 5th year on Historic Main Street in 2011 and since the beginning, the Market has become the locals' gathering spot on Sundays. The Park Silly Sunday Market is a free community event that takes place every Sunday from June 12 through September 25th, except August 7th when the street transforms into the Park City Kimball Arts Festival.
A unique feature of the Market is their Zero Waste initiative. All of their food vendors use recyclable utensils, cups, and plates. They collect these used items in the Zero Waste containers and food waste gets fed to the pigs at Potter's farm in Coalville. Their successful Zero Waste program from the 2008 season resulted in a total of 7 1/2 bags of actual trash being sent to the landfill. That's 60,000 visitors and only 7 1/2 bags of trash!
We hope that you meet us in Historic Park City on Sundays for this great local event.
