One Great Summer

Summer is always exciting in the Historic District and Main Street is always the hub for Park City’s festivals and events. Our summer season kicked off on June 19th with Savor the Summit, Park City’s longest dinner table. This event was back for its third year and is a local’s favorite. 1500 diners were served from Park City’s finest restaurants and the evening was capped off by a performance by Fat Soul at 8pm.
Sundays are always exciting with the Park Silly Sunday Market. The Market runs for 15 weeks during the summer and fills the lower half of Main Street with music, vendors and food. The Market has a great stop for the families at the Town Lift Plaza where children can try their hand at crafts or have their face painted. Locals love the market for its funky vibe and famers market.
Main Street has hosted parades since the beginning of the City and is no different today. Both the 4th of July Parade and Miners’ Day (Labor Day) parades are held along a crowd packed street.
Next to the Sundance Film Festival the Park City Arts Festival is the largest event for Park City. The Park City Arts Festival is in its 41st year and continued their success in showcasing great artists for approximately 45,000 attendees. The Festival included visual-art exhibitions, live musical performances, cuisine-related activities, art-focused film screening, as is also the largest fundraising event for the Kimball Art Center which is located in the Historic District.
A new event for Park City was Stage 4 of the Tour of Utah bike race. The criterium course was Main Street to Swede Alley and was described by Velo news as: ‘ a monster of a course at 7,000 feet. A crowd around 8,000 lined the one-mile downtown course along Main Street to cheer the riders on for their more than 25 laps to the finish.
Our season will finally conclude with the last of the Park Silly Sunday Markets on September 26th. Be sure to join us again next year for all the fun and excitement here in Historic Park City.
