Manliest of Park City Men Contest
Tuesday, November 29, 2011
November in Park City - what is a guy to do this time of year? It's the lull before the proverbial, and hopefully actual, storm. He can brew up some Ramen noodles and secure a couch spot before the roommates get home, slowly savor a PBR with the regulars at a bar in Historic Park City, wax the skis one more time in anticipation...Or go prove his intrinsic masculinity in front of myriad onlookers at the Egyptian Theatre's third annual "Are We Not Men? - Feats of Brute Strength and Masculinity" competition.
The November 19th contest is open to men of all ages who believe they have what it takes to be named Park City's Manly Man of 2011.
Previous year's competitions included categories such as beer chugging, diaper changing, garbage removal, dipping the dance partner, push-ups and manly trivia. Contestants are judged by an illustrious panel of local women who know what they value in a Real Man.
Businesses can sponsor an employee or a "ringer" as a contestant by contacting Theatre Director Randy Barton at 435-901-4119. The entry fee is $500 per man and includes 20 tickets to the show so friends can cheer him on.
Now is the time to answer the age-old question, "Where are the real men?" The Egyptian Theatre will put them on stage and put them to the test, Saturday, November 19 at 8 p.m.. For those who are new to town, this could be a perfect way to discover why Park City women insist the odds are good but the goods are odd in this small mountain town.
Tickets are $15-$18 in advance and $18-$20 at the door.
Call 435-649-9371 or visit www.parkcityshows.com for more information and to purchase tickets.
