In the beginning, Park City was a rough and tumble silver mining boom town. The mines came and went but a raucous bunch of folks stayed on to ski and carouse. From those rowdy beginnings sprang bodacious boutiques and artsy stuff. Seriously good restaurants and a string of spirited watering holes. Come to think of it, Historic Park City today is still a lot like it was back in the 1890’s – only now with cushier lodgings and much better coffee.

When you REALLY love that band or musician, nothing beats the intimate setting, the awesome acoustics, and the close proximity to the stage afforded only at Park City's historic Egyptian Theatre. August is the Egyptian's month to shine with a recently-announced, full-month calendar of incredible music which includesa two-night performance by Leo Kotke.

Friday & Saturday, August 25-26, acoustic guitar virtuoso, Leo Kotke takes our stage for a solo performance. Kotke is primarily known for his finger-picking style on six- and 12-string guitars and instrumental compositions.

Kottke has been awarded two Grammy nominations, a Doctorate in Music Performance by the Peck School of Music at the U of Wisconsin Milwaukee, and he continues touring globally. He is also a frequent guest on public radio's "A Prairie Home Companion.
