Saturday, February 5, 2011 - Sunday, April 10, 2011

Rebecca Jacoby: The Visitors
Saturday, February 5, 2011 - Sunday, April 10, 2011
Rebecca Jacoby’s latest series, The Visitors, is about personal histories, the present moment and anticipated future. In larger-than-life paintings, Jacoby captures the poetic voices of visitors to her studio in fable-like narratives and symbolic images. This fanciful group of figures and expressions are a visual parade route of spontaneity, spirituality, joy and humanity.
The Perfect Fit: Shoes ell the Stories
Saturday, February 12, 2011 - Sunday, April 3, 2011
The Perfect Fit: Shoes Tell Stories explores the cultural meaning of shoes, presenting imaginative and provocative objects of every size and medium from clay, metal and fabric to wood, glass and paper. In this show, shoes created by 100 artists from all over the U.S. plus Canada and Israel express more than their role as footwear; they contain multiple meanings that speak to issues of gender, history, sexuality, race and class.
The Kimball Art Center is open 10 - 5 weekdays and 12 - 5 on weekends. Admission is free of charge.
