The Kimball Art Center is the heart of Park City’s historic and vibrant arts community. As part of their mission they work to engage individuals of all ages in a variety of ways, one of which is education.
The Kimball’s lineup of December family and youth classes is extensive. From Toy Land Painting to a Gift Making Workshop, there is surely something to for everyone. Registration can take place online at or by contacting the Kimball directly at 435.649.8882
Age Group: Tots (Ages 4-5)
12/09/2010 - 10:00am - 11:00am
In this class, students will use various toys instead of paintbrushes and learn how they create different lines and textures when dipped into paint and ink. Students will get to use toys such as balls, cars and play figures to create a unique design on a canvas and card stock. Then glue down small toys and puzzle pieces to give it a finished and abstract look. This is a creative way to show Santa your tots’ imagination!

Create handmade ceramic ornaments with Lauren Vitulli in the ceramics studio. Students learn to make ornaments using slab, coils and pinching techniques. Ornaments will be ready for the holidays and are great for gifts or decoration. All ages welcome.
Age Group: Kids (Ages 6-10)
12/13/2010 - 3:00pm - 6:00pm
Students create unique gifts for family and friends including hand made cards, totes, gift bags and wrapping paper. Students will learn about various art mediums while creating unique gifts. Space is limited. Registration deadline is four days prior to the first day of class.

12/18/2010 - 10:00am - 11:30am
Create unique glass plates for the winter season. Students will collage papers on the back of a glass plate and watch as their unique design shows up through the plate. Students are welcome to bring their own pictures if they would like. These serve as great gifts for family and friends. Enjoy them during the holiday season or throughout the year.
Age Group: Kids (Ages 6-10)
12/22/2010 - 1:00pm - 3:00pm
Kids have fun in this special winter workshop learning pottery on the wheel and learning to paint landscapes. During the first class students make a ceramics piece on the wheel and paint it. The second class, learn to paint landscapes on canvas paper for a piece of art that is ready to take home and frame. Space is limited register at least five days in advance to reserve your space in this class.

12/22/2010 - 4:00pm - 5:00pm
Leave the sticky mess to us, and create unique houses and sculptures using icing, candy and graham crackers. Space is limited in this class. Please register early to reserve your space. This class fills quickly.
