Flashmob
Sunday, December 12, 2010
Main Street was the location for Park City's flashmob on Saturday, December 11th. We believe this was Park City's first flashmob, and we hope it won't be the last.
The Egyptian Theatre provided a great backdrop a dozen people came out into Main Street dancing to "Let is Snow" as shoppers and visitors watched on in surprise. The purpose of a flashmob is to catch people off guard and have some fun; that was accomplished.
Information regarding the flashmob was distributed throughout the Park City community via e-mail and facebook. It was unknown as to the number of people expected to participate since there were no formal rehersals of the dance. Participants learned the dance from videos posted on YouTube.
A big thanks is owed to all the dancers for taking time to learn the moves. Thanks is also given to Jacque Stuard, Emily Bregger, Mackenzie Knight and Rachel Anderson for the choreography, Monkia Guendner for her coordination assistance, Kris Severson with PSAV Presentation Services for the sound, and Ori Hoffer and the PCTV crew for the video.
Stay tuned. . . we hope there is more to come.
