The Egyptian Theatre Celebrates 30 Years with Two Jim Messina Concerts
Monday, October 17, 2011
On October 14 and 15, Park City's iconic Egyptian Theatre celebrates its 30th anniversary of delivering top-notch, live entertainment and theatrical performances to the Park City community. A special concert with Jim Messina will honor the historic venue's vital role as a theatre, community venue and cherished, local non-profit.
Jim Messina is a Rock & Roll Hall of Famer, former member of Buffalo Springfield, founding member of Poco, and half of the eponymous Loggins & Messina. Performances are at 8 p.m. on Friday and Saturday with pre- and post-show receptions and artist meet-n-greet for Pharaoh Club Members only. Reserved seating is available for $40-$75 and can be purchased in advance. Be sure to buy tickets soon as the intimate, limited-seating theatre is sure to sell out for these two highly anticipated concerts. Visit the Egyptian Theatre's website to buy your tickets.
Another cause for celebration is the Egyptian's recent announcement that it is officially in the black after a well-publicized struggle to remain open just a few years ago. Much of the comeback can be attributed to the fierce dedication and great programming of Theatre Manager Randy Barton and an active board. The creation of the Pharoah Club is another crucial factor in the theatre's success. Pharoah Club members are theatre subscribers who get great benefits for supporting the Egyptian. Based on various levels of membership, perks include restaurant gift certificates, lift tickets for The Canyons, theatre credit toward performances, preferred seating, Southwest Airline vouchers, attendance at theatre socials and recognition on the website and in Playbills.
