In the beginning, Park City was a rough and tumble silver mining boom town. The mines came and went but a raucous bunch of folks stayed on to ski and carouse. From those rowdy beginnings sprang bodacious boutiques and artsy stuff. Seriously good restaurants and a string of spirited watering holes. Come to think of it, Historic Park City today is still a lot like it was back in the 1890’s – only now with cushier lodgings and much better coffee.

Confessions of a Band Geek Mom

After 36 years of childless living spoiled stand-up comic Stacy Dymalski into believing happy hour was just a normal part of one’s daily commute, she moved to Utah and within a year got pregnant.

Before she knew it Stacy had two young sons and suddenly sleep won out over midnight comedy shows. Stacy has completed another book: Confessions of a Band Geek Mom (One exhausted parent’s take on carpools, room mothers, high school band, and hernias.) Stacy has documented her parenting journey in this delightful collection of laugh-out-loud stories that her children are sure to contest once they’re old enough to understand the art of irony and exaggeration.

Stacy’s first book signing for Confessions of a Band Geek Mom is scheduled the day before Mother’s Day: Saturday, May 7, 2011, from 2:00 to 3:30 at Dolly’s Bookstore, 510 Main Street. Stacy will also do a reading from her book at the event.
