In the beginning, Park City was a rough and tumble silver mining boom town. The mines came and went but a raucous bunch of folks stayed on to ski and carouse. From those rowdy beginnings sprang bodacious boutiques and artsy stuff. Seriously good restaurants and a string of spirited watering holes. Come to think of it, Historic Park City today is still a lot like it was back in the 1890’s – only now with cushier lodgings and much better coffee.

Dogs on Main! The leashed members of your family are welcome to join you for the Friday, June 24th Gallery Stroll event. Each gallery will have treats and water for the furry, four-legged friends from 6 to 8pm.

Of particular interest is a photo booth at Silver Queen Fine Arts where, for a $5 donation, pets and people can be photographed alone or together.  All proceeds of photos taken during the gallery stroll benefit Park City Friends of Animals, a no-kill organization set up to care for homeless pets.

Additionally, Dancing Hands Gallery has offered a wonderful opportunity for those interested in enjoying the entire weekend in Park City.

Up for raffle is a two night stay at a 2 bedroom apartment located right on Main Street. The apartment has two balconies overlooking the street and is within quick walking distance of many fine restaurants, shops and the Park City Museum.

Other special events taking place in Park City during this weekend include Savor the Summit, Park City's street-long outdoor dining table, and the Park City Silly Market on Sunday morning.  Opportunity tickets are $20 each and all proceeds benefit the Park City Gallery Association. For additional information and to purchase a chance to enjoy the Apartment on Main Street, please call Chris Meyer at the Dancing Hands Gallery at 435-649-1414. Photos and information about the apartment can be viewed at www.591mainstreet.com.

The Park City Gallery Association has dedicated this special art walk to Connie Katz of Coda Gallery who passed away this February after a brief battle with pancreatic cancer. Members share that they miss Connie’s passionate support of the Park City arts scene. Her boundless enthusiasm for the Gallery Association helped to build and develop the now successful monthly gallery stroll. Connie particularly loved the dog art stroll and was looking forward to this year’s stroll.
