42nd Annual Park City Kimball Arts Festival
Wednesday, July 27, 2011
Hundreds of artists from around the nation will descend upon Historic Park City, in turn attracting thousands of art enthusiasts from August 5-7 for the Park City Kimball Arts Festival. The ecclectic arrary of artists line Main Street, beginning at 5 p.m. on Friday until 9 p.m.
Originally conceived as a free night for locals, the Friday opening has continued to grow in popularity. New this year, the evening will be free to Summit County residents. Those not residing in the County will be offered a $10 pass that is valid the entire weekend. Either way, it's a great deal to preview the works for sale before the real crowds arrive on Saturday. The entry fees serve to support the Kimball Art Center's year-round programming. The more relaxed Friday evening allows ample opportunity to mingle on the street and to dine in Park City's dynamic, award-winning restaurants.
The Arts Festival continues Saturday, 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sunday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Featured art includes painting, photography, jewelry, ceramics, glass, sculpture, and more.
Another great attraction this year is the chance to win an 18-month lease on a 2011 Porsche Boxter convertible by purchasing a one-year membership to the Kimball Art Center. An individual membership for $75 includes one chance to win the Porsche, while a family membership of $150 comes with two chances to drive home in the luxury sports car.
