In the beginning, Park City was a rough and tumble silver mining boom town. The mines came and went but a raucous bunch of folks stayed on to ski and carouse. From those rowdy beginnings sprang bodacious boutiques and artsy stuff. Seriously good restaurants and a string of spirited watering holes. Come to think of it, Historic Park City today is still a lot like it was back in the 1890’s – only now with cushier lodgings and much better coffee.

Historic Park City is proud to be the home to many of the great summer events that take place in Park City.  From welcoming in summer by setting a dinner table nearly a mile long on Main Street to viewing art at one of the Nation’s top arts festivals, Historic Park City continues to be ‘the main attraction.’


Park Silly Sunday Market - June 12, 19, and 26; July 3, 10, 17, 24 and 31; August 14, 21, and 28; and September 4, 11, 18 and 25
Park Silly Sunday Market is celebrating it's 5th summer on Park City's Historic Main Street.  The Park Silly Sunday Market is an eco friendly, open-air market and street festival. It is a treasure box that features unique and eclectic-local and regional arts and crafts, music and performance art, antiques, imports and one-of-a-kind finds, delicious gourmet foods, and farmers market fruits and vegetables. It is as unique as it's town is.

Bark ‘n’ Art Gallery Stroll - June 24
On the last Friday of every month, members of the Park City Gallery Association offer a showcase of acclaimed artists, special exhibits and art events. Locals and visitors are encouraged to bring their dogs along to June’s Bark ‘n’ Art Gallery Stroll, a special themed event in honor of Connie Katz.

June 25 This is Park Citys longest dinner party, offering diners at The Grande Table a unique celebration of fabulous food, drink and live music while seated in the middle of Main Street. Park City's best restaurants will showcase their culinary talents in an open air community celebration kicking off the summer season.  Reservations strongly recommended.

Various shops and restaurants along Main Street will serve wine and hors d’oeuvres from 4:00 - 7:00 pm.  Winemakers’ Dinners at various restaurants on and off Main Street will begin at 7:00 pm that same evening. The event typically brings 1,000+ people to the street.  The event organizers ask businesses to consider remaining open later in the evening.

The annual Park City Kimball Arts Festival, in its 42nd year, showcases over 220 artist exhibits lined along Main Street.  Taste of Art was added in 2010 in conjunction with Park City’s incredible restaurants, cafés, and eateries to provide festival attendees a multi-sensory experience through food and beverage throughout the weekend.

Miner’s Day Celebration - September 5
Traditional Miner’s Day events begins with the World Famous “Running of the Balls” which is where thousands of galls are rolled down the center of Main Street.  Following the balls, the Miner’s Day Parade begins at the top of Main Street at 11:00 am, with activities to follow in City Park.

Tour of Utah- Prologue

2011 marks the seventh year for the Larry H. Miller Tour of Utah.  From its grassroots start as a well-respected regional competition covering three days, the Tour of Utah is now a highly-prized six-day sporting event and festival with international significance.  Some of the best professional cyclists in the world will battle across the most beautiful terrain along the western Rocky Mountains in Utah this August.  What has become “America’s Toughest Stage Race” for the pros has become one of the most scenic and entertaining sporting events for spectators. Park City is the stage for the Prologue.  The specific route, which is said to include Main Street will be announced in May.
