In the beginning, Park City was a rough and tumble silver mining boom town. The mines came and went but a raucous bunch of folks stayed on to ski and carouse. From those rowdy beginnings sprang bodacious boutiques and artsy stuff. Seriously good restaurants and a string of spirited watering holes. Come to think of it, Historic Park City today is still a lot like it was back in the 1890’s – only now with cushier lodgings and much better coffee.

Historic Park City selected a photograph from local, Mike Flaherty, as the photo that best captured the Historic District’s spirit and character.  Mike took the winning photo from the Sky Lodge at 4pm on Christmas Day 2010.  The backdrop of historic structures, a mining tower and skiers highlights all that makes Historic Park City unique.  The HPCA will award Mike with a $150 gift card that can be redeemed at over 100 restaurants and shops in the Historic Park City District.

The 2 first place winners highlight two iconic summer events: Savor the Summit and the Park City Kimball Arts Festival.  The two first place photos were submitted by Teresa DeWilde and Myles Rademan respectively.  The first place winners receive a $100 gift card to Historic Park City.

Twenty-six photos highlighting Main Street, the Historic District and mining relics were submitted. We thank all the photographers for their submissions and for sharing their images with us for the addition their stories to the Park City community.
