Nov. 2010: Park City Museum

So you think you know Park City.  There’s the skiing, the restaurants, the shopping and all the outdoor activities one could want.  But did you know that running underneath Park City is over 1200 miles of abandoned mining tunnels?  That is more than the New York subway system!

Park City has a rich and storied past that is brought back to life at the Park City Museum.  In 2009, the Park City Museum reopened after a two year, $8.9 million renovation to share Park City’s history with locals and visitors alike.  Interactive displays, short films, artifacts and the ability to visit the original territorial jail in the basement of the historic City Hall provides an unforgettable experience.

Get to know Park City’s transition from a mining town to a ski destination as you climb into an original car from the world’s only “Skier Subway” and watch a film explaining Park City’s transition from a mining to a skiing town.
