In the beginning, Park City was a rough and tumble silver mining boom town. The mines came and went but a raucous bunch of folks stayed on to ski and carouse. From those rowdy beginnings sprang bodacious boutiques and artsy stuff. Seriously good restaurants and a string of spirited watering holes. Come to think of it, Historic Park City today is still a lot like it was back in the 1890’s – only now with cushier lodgings and much better coffee.

HGTV Crew Seen In Park City

The nationally broadcasted cable channel Home & Garden Television (HGTV) has been in Park City over the past month, filming for two separate HGTV shows. One of the crews filmed a significant amount of lifestyle clips in Historic Park City, featuring specific restaurants, galleries and boutiques, for the 2012 HGTV Dream Home Sweepstakes show. HGTV builders are currently constructing a luxury home in the Deer Valley area to give away to a lucky winner has entered the HGTV Dream Home Sweepstakes in Spring 2012. The show will highlight Park City’s beautiful mountain surroundings and many landmarks in the Historic District in addition to the home.

 

A separate HGTV show has been filming in the Silver Springs area of Park City for a new show called HGTV’d. The show surprises homeowners across the country with jaw dropping makeovers to their house, and one Park City couple received the opportunity to have a room in their house remodeled. Film crews spent additional time in Historic Park City to capture the mountain town charm and local flavor, which will be included in the show.
