In the beginning, Park City was a rough and tumble silver mining boom town. The mines came and went but a raucous bunch of folks stayed on to ski and carouse. From those rowdy beginnings sprang bodacious boutiques and artsy stuff. Seriously good restaurants and a string of spirited watering holes. Come to think of it, Historic Park City today is still a lot like it was back in the 1890’s – only now with cushier lodgings and much better coffee.

Nov. 2010: Free Parking on Historic Main Street

As an early holiday gift, the Historic Park City merchants, along with Park City Municipal, are offering free parking all along Main Street for the holiday season.  Free parking begins on Friday, November 26th and runs through Friday, December 17th.  Free parking allows locals and visitors to do their shopping without paying to park for a duration of 3-hours.

The holidays are a magical time in Historic Park City filled with activities offered by the merchants.  The full array of holiday activities swing into action beginning December 18th with carolers and carriage rides, including an Light Parade up Main Street on December 21st.
